I became a member of Kit & Clowder in February 2014. I didn't really know what it was about, except I had seen Alyce's colouring and WISHED I could colour like her. A few short months later, and there she was, offering to teach us how to colour. I couldn't believe it! I tried to talk myself out of it. I have five kids, four of them very young, and I did not know how I was going to find the time to do an online course. Well, I read the info on the class, re-read the info to make sure I understood it all, and took the the plunge. It said you could go at your own pace, and I thought, well what do I have to lose then? Hopefully, I could make it through at least a couple lessons, and maybe learn something. It was easily the best money I ever spent. There's no way you could take an art class where I live for what Alyce charges for the Skin & Hair class, and learn SO MUCH! The material is in depth, and the videos are easy to understand and follow. She does such a great job of explaining what to do. If you have a question before watching the video, then you won't have one after. She is a really excellent teacher! Uploading your work into the classroom is easy, and in fact, I find the entire website easy to navigate, which is helpful when you're enrolled in as many classes as I am. I think I'm up to FIVE right now. She always gives you constructive criticism, so you can grow and improve. She's super supportive, which is awesome when you're just starting out, and the last time you coloured was with your Crayolas. And you really do go at your own pace. It took me five months to complete the Skin & Hair class, mostly because once summer started and my kids were out of school and it was nice outside, I kind of put colouring on the back burner. But it was always waiting there for me when I was ready, and so was Alyce. I don't know how she does all that she does. She's one of a kind, and if you are looking to learn to use alcohol markers, then this is really the best place to start. The Kit & Clowder community that has grown from this is just amazing. So many amazing and talented people, supporting each other and encouraging each other is really a blessing that I don't think anyone really expects when they join K&C. You can't go wrong by taking any of Alyce's courses. They really are money well spent!
